Homophobia - Please All Read

Sat Sep 8, 2007, 4:44 AM
I've only got the net for a couple of hours, but I wanted to share this with you guys.

A while back I got a comment on 'Naked Dress Up' that just said...

"Dude you're fucking gay"

So I thought, well its clearly supposed to be an insult, so I suppose I should report it to dev art.

So I did.

and this is what I got

I'm always looking for models (male/female, any age), if you'd like to help out in anyway, let me know. Bear in mind I work from Southampton/London and the South East. [link]
Funny, that statement can make someone commit suicide. How do I know? It happened in my school.

Maybe dA should rethink some things. This is why I'm not as active on this website anymore. I don't want to put up with the administration anymore.

Well, yes. Clearly, that statement was meant as an insult. As for dA's response . . . who knows? On other sites/services comments like that would warrant at least a reprimand, and at worst a temporary suspension or termination of access.

Additionally, why would anyone bother with leaving a comment like that? If something you see/read doesn't appeal to you, then move on and ignore it.

If the world does not, or will not, accept you . . . then, accept the world for what it is.
WTF.

that is not a life threat- but they can deffinitly do SOMETHING about it. it's supposed to be a site of creative people.

People's stupid comments like that is what makes people ignorant.

Isn't this supposed to be a place of creativity, and self expression? how can we with people running around calling people gay when it's our work that should be commented on. DA really needs to fix this matter.
Hmmm, well, perhaps DA is thinking you should believe is not as offending as some people can think. Maybe they think is not really an offense and that you shouldn't take it as one, BUT, he is offending you for the way he is writing it.

Argh..... i don't know...

I would say, do not take it too personally.

hmmm thats pretty ridiculous. i think that that particular person is just ignorant and silly. pity
The way I figure many websites nowadays just don't pay enough attention to anything that actually requires their attention and focus too much on punishing people who haven't really done anything.
As to the comment- I'd pretty much just ignore anything that is rude- and if they continue and harass you report them and point out that nothing was done before leading to a false "encouragement," of the behavior. Most people make comments like that because they want attention anyways.
